Discernment

When I was cleaning up my garden the other day I grabbed a handful of what I thought was all plants that I did not want in a particular space.  As I looked at the lot that I had pulled up I recognized a very small onion that had been hiding in the mix.  I was so sad to have pulled this young plant out of the ground.  The premature death for this beneficial friend that I had wanted to mature into something I could consume could have been avoided had I practiced better discernment.

Our Food is Locked Up!

I’m reading the book ‘My Ishmael’ by Daniel Quinn.  I’ve never read his work before.  ‘My Ishmael’ is the second in a series, but this is where I began.  It doesn’t matter that I have not yet read ‘Ishmael’ but I most certainly intend to go back to it after reading this treasure.  I cannot recommend this book enough!!!!  Continue reading “Our Food is Locked Up!”

One of the arguments I often hear for GMO’s is that we need them to feed the world.  Interesting concept when one considers that God created a sustainable planet.  Where we get it wrong is in our desire to dominate the planet rather than be the stewards that God commanded of us.  Since we, in our pride, feel that we know how to grow food in a ‘better’ way than how God has given us, we have to make modifications that are more technical and scientific than faith driven.   Continue reading “GMO’s and the God complex”
